Adopt Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe

Female · Young · 2 years

🐾 Alpha - a sensitive combat cuddler is looking for an experienced home 🐾 This is Alpha, a beautiful Malinois mix, born on 11.11.2024. His mother is a purebred long-haired Malinois female dog, his father a Malinois–Labrador mix. Alpha is the only boy among four siblings and has already learned to assert himself - because his sisters often teased him. At the age of one year, Alpha already weighs 37 kg and measures about 65 cm at the shoulder. His charming Labrador spoon ears make him unmistakable. He comes from a private household, not from a breeder, and has been medically monitored since birth - there are no hip problems or similar issues. Alpha loves action: playing with a ball, digging, catching - he is always there! At the same time, he takes independent breaks (unusual for the breed) when he realizes he needs a break. He also loves to snuggle and happily claims the foot space in bed at night. As a typical Malinois, he shows a good protective instinct at home: he reliably reports strangers and needs some time to assess new people. In uncertainty, he can bark or even timidly snap - here he needs confident leadership and clear structures! Alpha gets stressed quickly outdoors, so his leash training needs to be re-established. He doesn't tolerate car rides well, so either plan feeding breaks beforehand or work on it specifically. What makes him special: Alpha is very intelligent, learns quickly and already masters much more than the usual basic commands. With other dogs he is initially unsure, but warms up quickly and then likes to invite them to play. He is curious, cheerful and wants to please - but needs people who know how to handle a sensitive, uncertain Malinois. Alpha is not a pure working dog - he loves closeness, affection and often steals kisses and cuddles from his human. A real combat cuddler with people he knows well. Alpha is only given to experienced hands who are ready to re-socialize him lovingly, patiently and consistently. He is not housed at our animal shelter. If you are seriously interested, please contact us using this contact:. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe

What life with Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe looks like

Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe is a small young adult dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alpha – Vermittlungshilfe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
