Alva

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 9 months

Desislava Bogdanova, born approximately November 2025, female, location: Bulgaria, spayed: yes, FIV test: negative, FeLV test: negative, no handicaps, compatible with: children: yes, cats: yes, dogs: unknown, requirements: NO single housing, only indoor housing, NO outdoor access, balcony or terrace desirable (if available, securing required) Alva appeared one day in the area where Desislava regularly walks her dog. There are usually no other street cats in the area. It is likely that someone simply abandoned the young cat there. Alva seemed completely frightened and lost on the street. At the same time, she desperately sought human proximity, even chasing strangers and trying to cross large, heavily trafficked roads, as if hoping that these people belonged to her. She even ran away from small birds, apparently unaware that they were not a threat to her. Desislava could not leave Alva to her fate and took her in. Alva is a very charming little girl who enjoys human proximity. She is affectionate, calm, and gentle, and enjoys every attention she can get. Even with people she doesn't know, she is open and friendly. She also gets along well with other cats, likes to play with them, and quickly finds a good connection with new cats. Alva is simply a sweet little mouse who likes to be in the middle of things and enjoys having people and other cats around her. For Alva, the time of searching is finally over. She has been looking for people she can trust outside - now we wish her someone she can just stay with. A person who loves her affectionate nature, plays with her, and shows her that she doesn't have to be afraid anymore. Alva would love to feel at home.

Alva würde so gerne angekommen.

About Alva

What life with Alva looks like

Alva is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
