Amara

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Temperament: Sweet, friendly, a little shy Suited to: Apartment/indoor living only, Safe garden access only, Children friendly, Estimated to be 6 years old, little white Princess Amara is a beautiful puss. She is petite, sweetly shy but at the same time loves to play and loves to be with her human. Amara is not so keen on lots of noise and will retreat to find a quiet space, alternatively she doesn't like to be left alone for great swathes of time. There are some cats she's quite afraid of, so we feel it's in her best interests to go to a quiet home where she has the only Royal pouffe in the house. She is currently an indoor cat, we think this quite suits her although we find most cats love a warm place to sit in the sun and fresh air if it's available. Amara is healthy, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and will be able to fly to the UK from Qatar in early July. Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, FIV/Felv negative

About Amara

What life with Amara looks like

Amara is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Paws Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Paws Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Paws Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Paws Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
