Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! The name Ami means "beautiful flower" - and just like that, the young female dog is delicate, cheerful, and special. The approximately 4-month-old Ami is a very people-oriented puppy who loves being close to people and actively seeks contact. At about 45 cm in height and around 12 kg, she is the most delicate of the three siblings and explores the world with curiosity and joy. Ami is playful, open, and social as a puppy. She enjoys playing with her siblings and generally likes contact with other dogs. Therefore, we definitely want regular dog contact for her. An experienced first dog or attending a puppy school would be ideal so that she can continue to develop so well. She is active, curious, and wants to be occupied. Therefore, Ami is rather unsuitable for a pure life in an apartment. She is looking for people who enjoy being out and about and want to lovingly show a young dog the world. Of course, Ami still has to learn the basics of dog behavior. Topics such as housebreaking, leash control, and living in a house are still unfamiliar to her. However, with patience, loving guidance, and clear structures, she will certainly develop beautifully. Since her parents are unknown, we cannot accurately predict her final size. Herd protection dog genes cannot be ruled out either, which is why we are looking for people who would like to deal with the possible characteristics of these dogs. Ami currently lives in Ankerland in Romania. Together with her siblings Bao and Mei, she was once left in freezing cold in front of the gate - but she was lucky and could come to safety in time. Ami is looking for people who can give her a loving home. A foster home would also be a wonderful first step in a new life for her. Ami travels to her new home with a microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and flea treatment, and naturally brings her EU pet passport with her. After a positive pre-check, she will be adopted for a fee. Maybe you are exactly the person at whom Ami can finally arrive? Many thanks to Claudia H.! You gave Ami her name. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Claudia H.! Du hast Ami ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 13.05.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Ami

What life with Ami looks like

Ami is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ami, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ami?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ami on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ami if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ami already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ami isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ami and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
