Amidala

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

A help request came from a property owner in Szentendre. Based on the neighbors' report, the tenant had not been moving in the property since Sunday. They left their dog locked inside. Upon arriving at the scene, we requested assistance from the Szentendre police, who, after verifying the property ownership, ensured access. We successfully removed the dog that had been locked inside for days. Based on the conditions found inside—the amount of dog feces and urine—it was indeed locked in for a very long time. The dog had no access to water or food. The very kind, young female bull-type dog, born around 2024, whom we named Amidalán, is now safe at the Noé Animal Shelter Foundation. We did not find a microchip in her. Police proceedings have started to clarify the circumstances and for neglecting the animal. Amidala received the missing microchip, vaccinations, and spaying, and we are now looking for a new family for her. Amidala is still young, so she is a lively, active, playful, and curious dog. She really enjoys human company. We are looking for a family that can dedicate enough time to her upbringing and where she can be an active member of the family. We especially expect applications from experienced dog owners. It is assumed that living in an apartment is not foreign to her, but walking on a leash still needs refinement.

A bent tapasztalt állapotok - kutya ürülék, vizelet mennyisége - alapján, valóban extra hosszú ideje be lehetett zárva. About Amidala

What life with Amidala looks like

Amidala is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs leash training and consistent socialization due to rescue background

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amidala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amidala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amidala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amidala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amidala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amidala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amidala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
