adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Amina has found her people! Her story: This beautiful, sand-colored female dog is named Amina and must currently live in a small pen at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. This is truly not a nice place, even for a stray street dog, because it's loud, dirty, and hopelessly overcrowded. That's why our beautiful one urgently needs a new home, and we hope for loving people who want to help Amina change her sad life and make up for everything she's missed in a friendly family. Of course, an ideal ending for Amina would be great, but we would also be very happy with a foster home. We know almost nothing about Amira's past, only that it probably wasn't very pretty for Amina. Amina is friendly with everyone at the shelter and we assume that will also be the case in a new home if Amira's new people approach her respectfully, give her space and time to build trust, and don't pressure her. Amina is compatible with other dogs but doesn't necessarily need another dog around. We estimate Amira to be around 5.5 years old and at a height of about 52 cm, making her a medium-sized, slender female dog. Amira looks into the camera with beautiful, slightly sad black eyes—she seems to sense that everything now depends on her. Amira's fur is a bit unkempt and she's currently suffering from skin problems, but one can already see that Amina will develop into a beautiful female dog if she receives the necessary care, lots of love, patience, and affection in her new home. Although Amina may not yet know the rules a good house dog should master, and hasn't heard much about leash walking and house training, the clever female dog will surely try to learn quickly and do everything right in her new home. We wish our beautiful one warm, patient, and somewhat dog-experienced adopters who have plenty of time for Amina so she can make up for all the lost time on the street as a happy and loved house dog. After the initial settling-in period, Amina will surely look forward to attending a positively working dog training class, because regular training will strengthen her confidence and the bond with her new people. Do you perhaps have a spot in your home and heart for the pretty Amina? She can travel to her new home with an EU pet passport, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Vielen Dank Leon J.! Du unterstützt Amina mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 29.03.2025

About Amina

What life with Amina looks like

Amina is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
