### English Translation 😓😓 #Ten #Years...😓😓 Ten whole years of waiting. Ten years of seeing people pass by her cage and never stopping for her. Ten years of saying goodbye to other dogs that found homes, while Abby always stays behind... And yet... if you meet Abby, you can't forget her. She is one of those creatures that quietly touches your soul. She doesn't ask for much. Just a hug. A presence. A person to love. Do you know what it's like to look at a creature as if you are its whole world? To put her head on you and sigh with relief because for a few minutes she feels like she belongs somewhere? That's what Abby does. And then she returns to her cage alone. Once she was a puppy. Once she had "more chances." But months turned into years... and the years turned into #Ten. Ten years without a home. Without a couch. Without her own person. Without ever knowing what it means to "I came home and they're waiting for me." And the most unfair thing? She never did anything wrong. She is an incredibly sweet, tender, calm creature that simply... no one gave her the chance she deserves. We have shared her story a thousand times... We want to make another effort... We don't want her to spend her whole life behind bars. Please... Look at her more closely. Share her. Ask about her. Meet her. Maybe somewhere there is finally the person who will change her life. And believe us... it will change his life too. Abby is about 10 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. She gets along well with male dogs. She will be given within Attica with an adoption contract and what the law dictates. Contact numbers 6944476806 6971657953 6971604301

About Άmpy (Άμπυ)

What life with Άmpy (Άμπυ) looks like

Άmpy (Άμπυ) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Voice in Athens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Άmpy (Άμπυ), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Άmpy (Άμπυ)?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Voice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Άmpy (Άμπυ) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Άmpy (Άμπυ) if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Voice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Άmpy (Άμπυ) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Άmpy (Άμπυ) isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Voice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Άmpy (Άμπυ) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
