Amy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Amy (born 01/2026) is a beautiful German Shepherd mix with a particularly gentle nature. At approximately 45 cm in height, she will likely grow only a few more centimeters and remain a slender, elegant dog. The young dog was rescued from the streets by Estera along with Akira. The past months have left their mark: Amy is currently very thin and sometimes appears as if the weight of her experiences still rests on her shoulders. Nevertheless, she shows herself to be a very loving and friendly dog who enjoys human closeness and longs for security. Now Amy needs time to settle in, relax and regain her strength. However, we wish her a loving foster home or a permanent home where she can experience the joy of a sheltered dog life. With some time, patience and lots of love, the little dog girl will soon become a happy, carefree companion who enriches her humans' lives.Who would like to show Amy that her sad days are finally over and give her the chance to a happy new beginning?Amy is spayed and will be vaccinated, chipped and placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check.General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines and new impressions - can also behave differently. This is normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They are intended to provide orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential he has.We are convinced: with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Amy

What life with Amy looks like

Amy is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Amy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
