How do I contact the shelter about ANATOLE?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Angoumois handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ANATOLE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt ANATOLE if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge Angoumois will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is ANATOLE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if ANATOLE isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Angoumois early rather than rehoming privately; they know ANATOLE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

ANATOLE

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 10 months

Anatole - 1 year Anatole arrived at the shelter following a population control measure at a residence, accompanied by several companions. Despite this change in life, Anatole quickly showed himself to be extremely sociable, affectionate and close to humans. He is a young cat who eagerly seeks contact and will quickly create a beautiful complicity with his future family. Having lived indoors so far, Anatole can perfectly continue this lifestyle. Access to the outdoors can also be considered gradually, once he is well accustomed to his new home. Accustomed to living surrounded by other cats, he also seems to get along well with his fellow cats and could therefore potentially join a home where another cat is already present. ✨ Anatole is now looking for his family for life: humans ready to offer him all the attention, gentleness and cuddles he loves so much. 🐾

About ANATOLE

What life with ANATOLE looks like

ANATOLE is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Refuge Angoumois in Angoulême.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.
