Adopt „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren

Male

neutered: No Rasse: Akbas (Herdenschutzhund) compatibility with others: Vertragic; Cats: Kann nicht getestet werden. Current location: Auffangstation Istanbul (Turkey) Odin was picked up without a owner in a small village. He shows himself at the Auffangstation as calm and self-assured. We only place this breed with experienced owners. A home and a securely fenced yard are a prerequisite for this. To the caretakers, he is friendly and not intrusive. The Akbas breed is described as brave and loyal. Generally, these dogs are reserved. However, they are also very attentive and independent. An Akbaş can be very quick and enduring. Like many other Herdenschutzhunde, he can easily jump a man-high fence. The Akbas resembles the Kangal but is genetically distinct from it. Akbas are additionally characterized by their ability to make independent decisions, especially in their traditional role as Herdenschutzhunde. Due to their strongly developed protective instinct and independence, they require clear leadership, which can make them demanding in terms of husbandry. Despite their reserve towards strangers, they develop a deep bond with their family and show a gentle nature towards familiar people.

Frequently asked

Adopting „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pföttchenretter mit Herz e.v. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pföttchenretter mit Herz e.v. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pföttchenretter mit Herz e.v. early rather than rehoming privately; they know „Odin“, ca. 2021 geboren and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
