VITA

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 2023 years

Vita is a medium-sized dog, born presumably at the beginning of 2023, affectionate, sunny, playful, lively, and friendly. She loves humans and gets along with her own kind, although she has a strong character and does not let anyone take advantage of her! At the beginning of spring 2024, she was found in dramatic conditions, abandoned to herself in the countryside, but she wanted to live and today she is the one you see: strong and beautiful! Leishmaniosis has caused some damage to her eyes, but the treatment has worked. She is currently in good health, the leishmania is under control, she takes Allopurinol and periodically Leishguard. She is in a boarding facility in the province of Mantova and is available for adoption throughout northern Italy, upon completion of the pre-adoption questionnaire and pre-adoption visit. Call about Vita! The maximum seriousness is required. No time-wasters, no minors; call only if genuinely interested. Always an aware adoption! Interested parties can request information via WhatsApp by providing an exhaustive presentation (name, surname, location, type of housing, family composition, other animals in the house, previous experiences, etc.). No perditempo, no minorenni; chiamare solo se davvero interessati. Adozione consapevole sempre! Gli interessati potranno fare richiesta di informazioni tramite whatsapp anticipando una loro presentazione esaustiva (nome, cognome, località, tipo abitazione, composizione nucleo famigliare, altri animali in casa, esperienze pregresse ecc.). About VITA

What life with VITA looks like

VITA is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Adottami col Cuore in Andria (BAT).

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting VITA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VITA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Adottami col Cuore handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VITA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VITA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Adottami col Cuore will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is VITA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VITA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Adottami col Cuore early rather than rehoming privately; they know VITA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
