Angel

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 6 years

Angel – a gentle Malinois is finally looking for his home. Angel arrived at the animal shelter in November 2023. Since then, he has been waiting. Day after day, month after month - for his chance, for people who will finally give him a real home. Angel is a beautiful male Malinois with a gentle, people-oriented character. He loves attention, enjoys petting, and repeatedly seeks contact with his caretakers. He also gets along well with other dogs - in the animal shelter, he lived harmoniously with several Malinois for a long time. However, the daily routine behind bars is taking its toll on him. Angel now lives alone in a small kennel, from which he can hardly look out. Walks are rare, the capacity of the animal shelter is unfortunately limited, and the stress of his daily life is increasingly affecting him - he is losing weight more and more. Angel urgently needs a place where he can rest. A home where he can regain strength and simply be a dog again. As a breed, Angel is active, intelligent, and hardworking. He needs mental and physical activity, but rest periods and a stable environment are just as important. We are looking for experienced people who know the nature of a Malinois and enjoy giving a sensitive dog structure, security, and attention. Angel has waited long enough. He is ready to give his heart - to the people who show him that life holds more than concrete, bars, and waiting. Please give him the chance to settle in - either as an adopter or through a foster home. Angel has everything it takes to become a loyal, loving companion. Only the home is missing. If you are aware of what comes with adopting a shelter dog and you have fallen for his pleading eyes, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very grateful, and especially Angel, if you could provide a foster home! Here is Angel's video Here is Video 2

About Angel

What life with Angel looks like

Angel is a adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Angel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
