Angie

Mixed Breed · Female

I’m Angie—a loving cat lady with a very special little wobbly dance. I have ataxia, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from enjoying life! With my open and cheerful nature, I bring warmth and joy to every home. When I feel safe, there’s nothing I love more than curling up on your lap for some cuddles and lots of petting. However, I do need a bit of time to warm up to new people. At first, I’m reserved and cautious around strangers. But with patience and love, I’ll build trust—and then you’ll see just how cuddly and affectionate I can be! For me, living in an apartment or having secure outdoor access would be perfect. And the very best thing would be if I could move in with my brother Atze. He’s my little rock in the storm, and together we’re simply a perfect pair. If you’d like to give a special cat girl like me a warm and safe home, I can’t wait to meet you soon! Brief overview: — Age: approximately 3–4 years — Breed: European Shorthair — Special features: has ataxia, sweet and outgoing, loves to curl up on laps for cuddles — Personality: shy around strangers, needs time to build trust — Preferred living situation: apartment or securely fenced outdoor access, ideally together with my brother Atze

About Angie

What life with Angie looks like

Angie is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Stendal in Stendal.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stendal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stendal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Angie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stendal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
