Adopt Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny

Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Gary and Bonny are like an old married couple – simply inseparable. Unfortunately, the long and intensive care required by the Angora rabbits’ fur scares many people away, so the two have been with us at our shelter for a longer time and are often overlooked. Due to their breed, the two cannot be kept outdoors and require special bedding to prevent their fur from being damaged and becoming tangled. Gary came to us from another animal shelter in 2024, while Bonny was a surrendered pet – at the animal shelter, the two got to know and love each other. Bonny is a feisty rabbit and clearly shows her boundaries. Gary is more reserved but has a friendly, albeit somewhat reserved, personality. As the two have already formed a well-established team, they would like to move together into a loving new home that meets their breed-specific needs. -Bonny: born 01.01.2019 (female) -Gary: born 11.05.2023 (male/neutered) Please contact us if you are interested.

About Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny

What life with Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny looks like

Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny is a adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Starnberg in Starnberg.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Starnberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Starnberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Starnberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angora Kaninchen Gary & Bonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
