Angus

Jack Russell Terrier Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 7 months

Angus is a cuddly chap who loves being close to his people and would much rather be snuggled up on your lap than sit anywhere else! He is still finding his feet in the world, so he'll need patience, encouragement and plenty of fun along the way. He's got lots to learn, but he is already making a good start and he loves a game of chase with his big, soft toys. If you've got the time to help a young dog learn, grow in confidence and enjoy all the fun of puppyhood, Angus will be very happy to share his cuddles and playtime with you. Angus is a friendly, curious 7-month-old Jack Russell/Patterdale Terrier cross looking for a loving home where he can get plenty of attention while he discovers more about the world. He would like to be the only dog at home, but can have doggy friends when out and about. He could live with secondary school-aged children who understand when he needs a bit of space. He also has the potential to live with other pets, pending successful introduction, and provided any interactions are carefully managed. As a young pup, Angus will need lots of snooze time and once he is settled in his new home, his new family will support him by gradually building up the time when he is left on his own. He has been happy being left for around an hour before he settles down for a sleep. Angus is a bright, inquisitive puppy already learning the basics, like sit and paw, and he would thrive with an active family who will love and guide him as he grows.

About Angus

What life with Angus looks like

Angus is a large puppy jack russell terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Salisbury in Newton Tony.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Salisbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Salisbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Angus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Salisbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
