adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Angus has found a home! His story: Our Angus with the cute ear kink is waiting for your request! The black-brown male dog is about 3 years old and has a medium body size of approximately 49 cm tall and 17 kg. He was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau before being euthanized and has lived in our private shelter in Zalau for almost a year. Angus has a shortened testicle, so his entry into Switzerland is unfortunately closed, or only possible under certain conditions. Angus likes the contact with people and meets them openly and curiously. He now loves being stroked and has a good view of the shelter entrance directly from his run. Angus is a great young male dog in his prime. Although his puberty is behind him, he still shows playful behavior. The cuddly, affectionate fellow is happy around people, goes well on a leash, and loves treats. He is very happy to be outside, exploring the surroundings, and sniffing everything. Outdoors, he orientates himself well with our helpers. When they go, he goes; when they stop, he stops. Angus gets along well with other dogs, but not with overly excited ones. Compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. We think he could easily integrate into a family, but of course, he still needs some training. We assume he has never lived in a household and needs to learn everything. Therefore, we are looking for people who have the necessary time to teach Angus everything in peace and are just as snuggly as he is. Angus is looking forward to exploring his new life with nature excursions and catching up on everything he has missed with you by his side. A visit to dog training classes would surely make the young pup very happy. Angus is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He travels with his EU pet passport of course. He would also be very happy about foster home offers. Who has fallen in love with Angus? Many thanks to Silvie S.! You have given Angus his name and thus an identity! Date: 26.08.

Stand: 26.08.2024

About Angus

What life with Angus looks like

Angus is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Angus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
