Anna

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Zypern Anna was one of the many dogs rescued from a kill shelter. She arrived at Argos Animal Shelter with a broken lower jaw. The volunteers took her to two veterinarians, and both said we should not perform surgery, since the jaw had begun to heal on its own, although not properly aligned. Surgery would be an operation that might not succeed and would be dangerous. The dog is not in pain and can eat everything. It is only a question of appearance. The man at the kill shelter told Sotiroulla that Anna had already come to him with a broken jaw and that she had probably been kicked by someone. Anna came to Argos Animal Shelter with her broken jaw and in pain, and she was far too thin, nothing but skin and bones. At first she was fearful, but with patience, love and care she slowly began to trust the volunteers. The staff at Argos give her the time and support she needs to recover, to feel safe, and to let her personality come through. She is now a healthy and lively female dog. Anna is microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed, and ready to travel at any time. Anna wishes for loving people who will introduce her to her new life with understanding and gentleness. For a family who enjoys being outdoors and active and wants a close bond with their dog, Anna is exactly the right match. For now, Anna gets to be a young dog: eating, romping, sleeping. The life of a young dog can be wonderful! But a young dog also means a great deal of responsibility. Once Anna has settled in, she will still have a lot to learn and will need loving support and consistent training. This includes, among other things, house training and being left alone, which she probably cannot yet do. Especially in the first months she will need round-the-clock care. Attending a dog school is also particularly important for Anna. Children in the household should be at least of school age and show respectful behavior toward animals. The rehoming fee for animal protection, including her share of the flight costs to Hamburg, is 640.00 EUR. For other airports such as Frankfurt or Munich, we can only offer them subject to availability, plus a transport fee of 100.00 EUR. If you can imagine giving Anna a loving home, please get in touch with me! Ideally, first complete the self-disclosure form, feel free to use the comments field for a few personal words and details, and then we will arrange a phone call so we can talk together about this wonderful dog. Please read our preliminary information. Here you will find some valuable tips and information to help you when choosing a rescue dog. Anna is ready for her new life, and perhaps it begins with you? 🐾

About Anna

What life with Anna looks like

Anna is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundeliebe Grenzenlos e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundeliebe Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundeliebe Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Anna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundeliebe Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
