adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Anni has found a home! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Anni had quite the bumpy start in life. She and her two siblings, Sontje and Sikka, were simply left at the doorstep of one of our local helpers. Now, the three of them live in a private animal shelter in Romania, and although they are lovingly cared for there, they can hardly wait to really start their lives! The little Anni has a slightly browner head than her sisters and is a real looker with her hanging ears. She will remain small when fully grown. Currently, she is only 3 months old and behaves very puppy-like. The sweet mouse is lively and playful and loves contact with people. She can't get enough of being stroked and playing. Our helper greets her every day with great excitement and wagging tail. Now, all Anni wishes is not to grow up in the animal shelter but in a cozy home with a comfortable dog bed. Even though Anni, as a little baby, knows nothing, she is motivated to learn about the big wide world. She would most love to have her new heart person by her side, who teaches her the dog ABCs. Just like her sisters, Anni still has puberty ahead. A time when she would like to be picked up by the paws and should be accompanied with patience, consistency, but also love. The little one would be very happy about a visit to puppy or dog training classes. After positive Anni will be microchipped, dewormed, and equipped with an EU pet passport to fully start her new life. The little one would also be very happy about a loving foster home. Many thanks to Ute B.! You gave Anni her sweet name!

Vielen Dank Ute B.! Du hast Anni ihren süßen Namen geschenkt!

About Anni

What life with Anni looks like

Anni is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
