Annie – Home pending

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Looking at Annie now, it’s hard to imagine the day she was found. She was wandering alone, desperate for food, literally just skin and bones. She was starving, forgotten, and losing hope until she was found by a friend, who brought her into the safety of her yard. Thankfully Annie’s life changed that day, she now has hope and a chance of a better life. Annie is so ready to find a forever home where “hunger” is a word she never has to understand again. Despite her rough start, she is incredibly social, very sweet and friendly. She currently shares a kennel with 7 other dogs of all sizes and gets along great with them. She is wonderful with Dogs, Cats and children. Annie isn’t just looking for a home, she’s looking for her special once in a life time someone to help her bloom. Her perfect home would be a rural or semi-rural home with a secure garden and plenty of lawn to run on. It would have owners with rescue experience who understand the patience and time it takes for a dog to transition from “survival mode” to “family pet,” with someone home most of the day. Annie needs at least one other friendly dog in the home to play with and, more importantly, to learn from. Older children only, please. Annie needs a special kind of person. Someone with the space, the kindness, and the heart to show this beautiful girl that there is still so much goodness left in the world. As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog. If you’ve got any questions or would like to learn more about 1 Dog At A Time Rescue, feel free to get in touch.

About Annie – Home pending

What life with Annie – Home pending looks like

Annie – Home pending is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Annie – Home pending, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Annie – Home pending?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Annie – Home pending on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Annie – Home pending if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Annie – Home pending already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Annie – Home pending isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Annie – Home pending and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
