Adopt Anteros

French Bulldog · Male · Senior · 8 years

Anteros - a small affectionate clown seeking his forever home. Anteros is a approximately 16 kg French bulldog male, originally from Spain and currently living in a foster home in Germany. There he is lovingly called "Bärchen" - a name that perfectly matches his friendly and affectionate nature. Anteros is a small affectionate clown who enjoys the company of his humans and would like to be with them everywhere. He especially likes to have company at home and loves lying on the sofa with his humans. He wants to please and meets his environment openly and warmly. Anteros gets along very well with other animals. He gets along very well with the dachshund male of the foster family and also gets along easily with experienced cat owners. He enjoys walks, exploring his surroundings curiously. He handles car rides calmly and without difficulties. Housebreaking is already working in phases, but needs further practice. Also, being alone is still difficult for him, so his future humans should have patience and understanding. An on-grade home with a garden is sought for Anteros, as stairs are not suitable for him or he would have to be carried. In his new home, children should already be older and able to take into account. Cats are possible, provided they are used to dogs. Anteros feels most comfortable in a quiet environment, ideally in a smaller town or village. Whoever gives this lovable bulldog time, closeness and security gains a loyal companion who enriches the lives of his humans with his cheerful and affectionate nature. Please note that the French bulldog belongs to the so-called breeding lines. More information can be found on our information page. Would you like to meet Anteros, then contact his rescuer. About Anteros

What life with Anteros looks like

Anteros is a large senior french bulldog dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anteros, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anteros?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anteros on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anteros if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anteros already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anteros isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anteros and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
