Anthrax is exactly what you imagine when thinking of a "stafford" – a loyal, affectionate, strong and proud dog who attaches himself completely to his person. Anthrax is friendly towards people, is easy to handle, loves contact and human attention. In the kennel run, he is exemplary – he doesn't destroy anything, doesn't bark and is clean. He is used to living at home, not a garden dog "for guarding"! He is used to children, but due to his disability we recommend him more for older people who will give him the needed calm and respect. Anthrax suffers from so-called KCS - keratoconjunctivitis sicca, which means that he does not produce tears. Care consists of regular eye drops (which he handles without problems), but it's a lifelong matter. Due to his weaker vision, he reacts less well to stimuli – for example, when he hears other dogs but can't see them, he may be uncertain and react excessively. Anthrax does not tolerate other dogs or cats, he needs to be the only one. An ideal home for him would be a family house with a yard where he can run – stairs are currently a problem for him. If you are looking for a faithful, quiet dog for one household, with whom you want to share the couch and a piece of the garden, Anthrax will be your shadow. But he needs a person who gives him understanding and patience and has experience with this breed.

Anthrax je přesně takový, jaký si představíte pod pojmem „stafford“ – oddaný, mazlivý, silný a hrdý pes, který ke svému člověku přilne celým srdcem. K lidem je přátelský, manipulace s ním není problém, miluje kontakt a lidskou pozornost. V kotci je vzorný – nedemoluje, neštěká a je čistotný. Byl zvyklý žít doma, není to pes na zahradu „na hlídání“! Je zvyklý na děti, ale kvůli svému hendikepu ho doporučujeme spíš k odrostlejším, které mu dopřejí potřebný klid a respekt. Anthrax trpí tzv. KKS – keratokonjunktivitis sicca, což znamená, že se mu netvoří slzy. Péče spočívá v pravidelném kapání do očí (což zvládá bez problémů), ale je to doživotní záležitost. Kvůli slabšímu zraku hůř reaguje na podněty – například když slyší jiné psy, ale nevidí je, může být nejistý a reagovat až přehnaně. Anthrax nesnese jiné psy ani kočky, potřebuje být jedináček. Ideální domov by pro něj byl v rodinném domě se zahradou, kam by si mohl vyběhnout – schody mu zatím dělají problémy. Pokud hledáte věrného, klidného psa do jedné domácnosti, se kterým budete chtít sdílet pohovku i kousek zahrady, Anthrax bude vaším stínem.
