Anton und Apollo

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 3 months

These two handsome male kittens were born and raised by their shy mother in a garden in a residential area of Delmenhorst. Fortunately, a local resident took care of the little family from the very beginning, and they were reported to us relatively early, allowing us to secure the kittens promptly. The first few days at their foster home were, of course, quite exciting—but very soon, these little rascals proved to be quite receptive to human touch, and now they’re already experienced little cuddlebugs. Many everyday noises still frighten them greatly, as they haven’t been exposed to them from the start, but with a bit of patience, this fear will soon subside. The two are eagerly looking forward to finding a lovely forever home. They get along well with other cats; unfortunately, we don’t yet know whether they’d be compatible with dogs. Of course, moving together would be ideal, but it would also be possible for them to join another cat—provided that cat is no older than five years. Children aged about five and older who can handle animals carefully and play with the kittens are welcome. Anton and Apollo are currently about 12 weeks old. Anton Apollo Our protégés are placed into homes under a protection contract and against a adoption fee starting at €150. As a rule, they are vaccinated, medically treated, and—depending on their age—already microchipped and neutered. We do not place cats alone in apartment living arrangements*, and we only match kittens under one year old with another cat—either another kitten or an existing young cat (no older than five years). Individual cats are placed only in secure outdoor access situations—that is, in traffic-calmed zones with cat-friendly neighbors, etc. (*Exceptions may be made in cases of illness-related reasons, such as blindness or physical disability.) Balconies must be secured before the cats move in.

About Anton und Apollo

What life with Anton und Apollo looks like

Anton und Apollo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Bremen e.V. in Bremen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anton und Apollo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anton und Apollo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Bremen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anton und Apollo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anton und Apollo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Bremen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anton und Apollo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anton und Apollo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Bremen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anton und Apollo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
