Anubis

Labrador Retriever · Male · Puppy

Labrador mixed breed Anubis – an absolute ray of sunshine looking for his happiness The young Labrador-mixed breed Anubis waits at the Spanish animal shelter for his people. We unfortunately don't know why he ended up there, as is often the case in animal welfare – but Anubis still looks out at the world with full openness and friendliness. He shows a great deal of attentiveness towards people and even knows his name. It has now become clear once again what a wonderful dog lies within Anubis. He is an absolute ray of sunshine who simply spreads good cheer with his loving nature. It's clear that he wants to be part of everything and has great potential to become a wonderful lifelong companion. Of course, the young male dog is still at the very beginning of his dog ABCs. Life in the house, everyday situations, and everything that goes with being a family dog, he will likely still have to learn. But with patience, love, and a loving, clear guidance, Anubis will surely continue to blossom. Perhaps there's also something of a hunting dog in him, which would make nose work and appropriate exercise a perfect match for him. People who are eager to learn together with him, to discover the world, and to give a young animal welfare dog a real chance will certainly find a loyal lifelong friend in Anubis. Who wants to show this cheerful ray of sunshine what it's like to have a home of their own? Then please contact his responsible matchmaker.

About Anubis

What life with Anubis looks like

Anubis is a large puppy/kitten labrador retriever dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anubis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anubis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anubis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anubis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anubis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anubis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anubis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
