Apéro

European Shorthair · Male

European (non LOOF) ID#: 250268781487755 We were contacted in emergency by the veterinarian of the former owners to take care of Apéro. He had a serious urinary infection and his owners could not afford to treat him or provide the specific food he needs. They were considering the ultimate solution: euthanasia. Apéro was young and had every chance of recovering. They finally agreed to give him up. Character: WARNING TORNADO AHEAD! Are your evenings a bit dull? Then it's time to bring in the Apéro! Despite a difficult start in life, this beautiful little roucmout is not the type to hold back: he's a real cocktail of energy, sweetness, and good humor to be consumed without moderation! The ingredients of this fabulous cocktail: fishing rod, balls, or laundry baskets... he has a great touch! With him, no time to relax, the show is guaranteed. He's the king of the perfect blend of independence and big hugs. A real glue that sticks to all your moments of relaxation. • 100% sociable with friends: He willingly shares his plate (and his basket) with dogs. Coexistence? A piece of cake! A true chatterbox on legs, he doesn't miss a thing that's going on around him! Unlike peanuts, Apéro doesn't make you fat, but he creates a very strong dependence on his purrs. Try it, and you'll adopt him for life! So if you're craving a little love and wild games, go for it! Don't let Apéro slip away! Note that due to his medical history, Apéro has a weakness in his urinary system, so a specific and adapted diet will be vital to his well-being to avoid any recurrence. He is currently on HILL'S Prescription Diet c/d Urinary Stress Multicare + Metabolic chicken croquettes. Adoption fee: €135 (membership included) Adoption outside France is possible. However, the adoption amount must be increased by the costs related to leaving the country (rabies vaccination and passport required 21 days before departure). The adopter must also be able to visit the foster family to meet the animal. FIV/FeLV test: YES, negative To adopt him, please fill out this form: and, as it is mandatory, have this certificate completed by a veterinarian or an ASV and present it to us after signing it.

About Apéro

What life with Apéro looks like

Apéro is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Action 4 Pets in action 4 pets.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Apéro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Apéro?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Apéro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Apéro if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Apéro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Apéro isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Apéro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
