Apollo. Mixed breed. Born: 2020 Health: vaccinated, chipped and healthy Character: Apollo is a Greek Shepherd mix, about 6 years old. He came to his current owner at six months old, who unfortunately has to give him up due to professional changes. He is about the size of a Labrador and weighs approximately 29kg. He is a really loving animal at heart - initially very shy and also skeptical - but if he has someone in his heart, he is very attached. He has a strong protective instinct, so he barks at strangers, especially men. However, once he has gained trust, he is a great companion. He walks well on a leash, loves long walks, especially in the snow and mountains, likes to sniff and explore his surroundings. He generally gets along well with other dogs and approaches them shyly-reticent to playfully-friendly. He knows basic commands well and usually follows them, but his herding instinct can be stronger in certain situations. So far, in consultation with his veterinarian, a castration has not been deemed necessary, as he has shown little interest in females. He had a successful surgery on his elbows due to a minor malformation and has shown no signs of it since. Apollo can stay home alone without problems. He behaves quietly in the house and respects all set boundaries, whether you are there or not. Car and train travel is no problem. He has had little contact with cats so far, but approaches them with curiosity, as his hunting instinct is almost non-existent. A household with children would not be ideal, as they are uncomfortable / uncanny to him. We are looking for a dog-experienced family / person who is not afraid of large dogs. Someone who is patient and gives him time to gain trust. Someone who is aware that you have to be a bit vigilant when you are out with him. Name: Apollo. Rasse: Mischling. Geboren: 2020Gesundheit: geimpft, gechipt und gesund Charakter: Apollo ist ein Griechischer Hirtenhund-Mischling, etwa 6 Jahre alt. Er kam mit sechs Monaten zu seiner aktuellen Besitzerin, die ihn leider aufgrund beruflicher Veränderungen abgeben muss. Er ist in etwa so groß wie ein Labrador und wiegt rd. 29kg. Er ist im Herzen ein wirklich liebes Tier – anfangs sehr schüchtern und auch skeptisch - aber wenn er jemanden ins Herz geschlossen hat, dann ist er sehr anhänglich. Er hat einen ausgeprägten Beschützerinstinkt, sodass er fremden Menschen, besonders Männern, mit Bellen begegnet. Hat er jedoch Vertrauen gefasst, ist er ein toller Begleiter.Er läuft gut an der Leine, liebt lange Spaziergänge, am liebsten im Schnee und in den Bergen, schnüffelt gerne und erkundet seine Umgebung. Mit anderen Hunden versteht er sich in der Regel gut und begegnet ihnen schüchtern-zurückhaltend bis spielerisch-freundlich. Grundkommandos kennt er gut und setzt diese auch (meistens) eifrig um, aber sein Hütetrieb kann in bestimmten Situationen stärker sein.Bisher wurde in Absprache mit seiner Tierärztin eine Kastration nicht für nötig befunden, da er wenig Interesse an Hündinnen gezeigt hat.Eine OP an den Ellbogen wegen einer kleineren Fehlstellung hat er gut überstanden und zeigt sich seither unauffällig.Apollo kann ohne Probleme alleine zuhause bleiben. Im Haus verhält er sich ruhig und beachtet alle gesetzten Grenzen, egal ob man dabei ist oder nicht. Auto- und Zugfahren ist kein Problem.Zu Katzen hatte er bisher wenig Kontakt, begegnet ihnen aber eher mit Neugier, da sein Jagdinstikt quasi nicht vorhanden ist.Ein Haushalt mit Kindern wäre nicht ideal, da ihm Kinder unbehaglich / unheimlich sind.Für Apollo suche wir eine hundeerfahrene Familie / Person, die keine Angst vor großen Hunden hat. Jemanden, der geduldig ist und ihm Zeit gibt, Vertrauen zu fassen.
