adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace and quiet, little Aqua… His story: Aqua was cruelly abandoned in the forest with his siblings Caesar, Crispy, July, Liv, Oakley, and Rubio—but fate was kind, and the little ones were rescued in time. Now, Aqua lives in a foster home in Romania, where he receives safety, food, and care—things that were anything but taken for granted for him. With his beige fur and intense blue eyes, Aqua immediately draws attention. But there's much more behind the cute exterior: a curious, lively, and energetic puppy who still has so much to learn—and must. His appearance suggests that Husky genes might be dormant. Such mixed breeds are often intelligent, energetic, and independent. This means: Aqua will need a later life that combines stimulation and structure. Walks, nose work, puzzle games, and exercise make him happy—boredom, on the other hand, does not. Currently, Aqua is still at the beginning of his development. House training, leash manners, being alone, or everyday stimuli like traffic, vacuum cleaners, or strangers—these are all new to him. Even though he shows openness, he needs a patient and sensitive companion who gives him time to discover the world at his own pace. And then there's also puberty. A phase often underestimated but crucial. What was learned seems suddenly forgotten, ears are on high alert. Boundaries are tested, trust is questioned. Sensitive and clever dogs like Aqua need a lot of patience, humor, loving consequences, and clear structures during this time. Those who consciously accompany this phase not only strengthen Aqua's character but also the relationship immensely. Positive dog training—possibly with the help of a non-violent dog training class—is gold. It strengthens the understanding between human and dog and gives Aqua the necessary orientation to feel safe. With other dogs, he currently shows a friendly and playful side. Compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Aqua will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas before being rehomed. He brings an EU pet passport and would be very happy with a loving foster home. Who falls in love with Aqua and gives him a life full of adventure, trust, and love? Many thanks to Mina! You gave Aqua his awesome name. As of: 18.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, kleiner Aqua… Vielen Dank an Mina! Du hast Aqua seinen tollen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 18.05.2025

About Aqua

What life with Aqua looks like

Aqua is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aqua, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aqua?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aqua on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aqua if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aqua already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aqua isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aqua and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
