Aquiles ID No.: 1042802 Breed: Czechoslovakian Wolfdog-mixed breed Age: approx. 03/2024 Sex: male Shoulder height: approx. 72 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Aquiles – Majestic wolfdog seeks experienced humans Aquiles (born approx. 30.03.2024, approx. 72 cm tall) is a stunning Czechoslovakian Wolfdog who turns every head. His presence carries something primal—like nature itself, the wind, and the vastness of the mountains. Aquiles came to our Spanish partner shelter Triple A after having run away twice from his previous home. The second time, he was found with a heavy, tight metal chain around his neck. It quickly became clear that his living situation there was entirely unsuitable for a young, social wolfdog. During his first days at the animal shelter, he was shy and reacted sensitively to movements near his neck, but he soon realized he was safe and loved here. Nevertheless, life in a kennel is torture for such a primal animal as Aquiles, even though he patiently tries to make the best of it. Aquiles is typically reserved around strangers and prefers to stay close to his own "pack." However, anyone who earns his trust and scratches just the right spot on his back will be rewarded with an exuberant leap of joy. Despite his size, he already walks calmly and politely on a leash. Aquiles is an intelligent and eager-to-learn dog, but he needs meaningful tasks. Simple tricks or treat-based search games bore him quickly—he wants to see real purpose in what he does. He responds very well to positive reinforcement but clearly shows impatience when asked to pose for too many photos. Aquiles shows great interest in other dogs. Ideally, we are looking for a home with a female canine companion of similar breed and energy level. He could also live as a single dog with very active people, provided regular social contact with fellow animals is guaranteed. Because Aquiles has a strong prey drive, his new home should not have small children or small pets. We are seeking a rural placement for him with ample outdoor space (garden or property). He is not suited for apartment living in a city. Aquiles is not for beginners. He requires confident, calm leadership as well as physical and mental stimulation. He needs people who respect the nature of primitive dogs and can provide him with consistent, patient socialization and training. Anyone willing to open their heart to this extraordinary dog will gain a loyal and impressive companion for genuine adventures in nature. Aquiles holds an EU pet passport and is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, tested for Mediterranean diseases, dewormed, and treated for fleas for travel arrangements. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean check: Yes Microchip: Yes Contact person: Larissa Spoerl Tel: Email:.

Aquiles zeigt großes Interesse an anderen Hunden. About Aquiles

What life with Aquiles looks like

Aquiles is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aquiles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aquiles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aquiles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aquiles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aquiles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aquiles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aquiles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
