adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Arabella has found a home! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Black Beauty Arabella is searching for a cozy spot! The pretty young female cat was found in a plastic bag, simply discarded…hard to imagine what the approximately 3-year-old Arabella went through. Fortunately, the charming girl was saved and brought to safety. Arabella is an extremely friendly and rather quiet female cat whose energy level is not particularly high. She spends her time cuddling on the lap of her foster mom or making herself comfortable in bed. Arabella is very grateful for every little thing. She has her heart in the right place, so we hope that someone will also want to give a happy life to a black cat, because Arabella is definitely a lucky find! In her foster home, she currently lives as a solo princess, which she also finds great – she can cuddle with people all by herself. In the past, she also had close contact with other cats and adapted well. A home without other cats is no problem for Arabella, as long as she is not alone all day. The pretty Arabella tested positive for FIV. However, this is no reason not to adopt her if you fall in love with her. FIV is a viral disease that can lead to a weakened immune system. Nevertheless, FIV-positive cats can achieve the same proud age as a FIV-negative cat! The virus is exclusively transmissible to cats, humans and other animals cannot catch it. Transmission could only occur if there are severe bite wounds between fellow animals. A FIV-positive and a FIV-negative cat can therefore live together in a household, share a bowl and cuddle spots, as long as all parties are compatible. Transmission through mating is also possible, which would not be an issue with neutered kittens. Unfortunately, a free roam is not an option for her. Who would like to walk the path with Arabella and give her a haven to rest in – a cozy dog bed where she can spend the rest of her life? Arabella can travel at any time and is then neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FeLV. She also has an EU pet passport and was named Arabella by Geli R., who has given her her identity!. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Arabella

What life with Arabella looks like

Arabella is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arabella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arabella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arabella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arabella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arabella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arabella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arabella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
