Arabeszk

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Arabeszk is her name, a young girl who came from Sántár, because she means so much beauty, as beautiful as she is inside and out. She is the dog who somehow got injured and her owner simply tied her eyes together instead of taking her to the veterinarian... The entire upper part of her front paw, the soft tissues, the tendons and the bones of the fingers are missing. Although some news reports mention a few days of being hit by a car - which is completely not ruled out - but her injuries may be older and the bones in her paw are cut off so neatly, in a row, that it rather indicates an impact with something very sharp. From here, we leave it to everyone's imagination... At first glance, everyone was shocked by the terrible injury and in everyone's mind formed the thought: it's impossible to save this leg, but we tried to fight and somehow save her leg. Unfortunately, we lost. After 4 months of treatment and bandaging, we had to admit that we lost this battle. Thus, Dr. Boda Attila amputated Arabeszk's injured leg at BodaVet Veterinary Clinic. We lost the battle, but not the spirit! Because despite the brutal injuries, Arabeszk is ALIVE‼️ From now on, we don't look back, only focus on the present and the future - just like dogs always do. From now on, a life without pain and suffering begins for this wonderful dog. Arabeszk is currently not available for adoption, but we gladly accept any support that we can use for her recovery.

Most sajnos vesztettünk. About Arabeszk

What life with Arabeszk looks like

Arabeszk is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Front leg amputation - three-legged dog due to severe injury and surgical amputation

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arabeszk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arabeszk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arabeszk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arabeszk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arabeszk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arabeszk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arabeszk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
