adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Aragon has found his luck! His story: Aragon has now arrived in Germany and is ready to find his permanent home. The young male dog is a real eye-catcher: His predominantly light brown fur harmonizes wonderfully with his striking black snout, and his black-and-white chest makes him unmistakable. Especially charming are his ears, which are still not quite decided whether they want to stand or not. Aragon is now about 6 months old and is in the middle of the puppy and puberty phase. He develops very typical for a young, active dog with a lot of potential: curious, eager to learn, and full of energy. Aragon learns very quickly and already shows how much he enjoys working together with his people. He already masters the basic commands Sit, Stay, and Lie Down, and he loves to catch frisbees and to be physically and mentally active. Currently, it still falls typical for Aragon to have a hard time settling down. He tests boundaries, tries out things, and needs clear, reliable structures to orient himself. With the right mix of consistency, calmness, and meaningful stimulation, he develops into a very attentive and cooperative companion. Aragon wants to please and likes to work – his people should be ready to guide his energy into the right direction. He gets along well with other dogs. Whether he is also suitable for living with cats, we cannot say for sure at the moment. Despite some uncertainties at the beginning of his life, he has managed his start well. He now meets new situations more openly than at the beginning, but still needs people who can give him security and guide him through everyday life. For Aragon, we are looking for a home with active, dog-experienced people who enjoy working with a young dog, stimulating him physically and mentally, and patiently accompanying him through the more challenging puberty phase. He is not a dog for a side job, but a dog for people who are enthusiastic about training, structure, and joint development. Aragon brings the best prerequisites to develop into a great companion – intelligent, hard-working, and closely bound to his people. Now, all he needs is a home that will give him lasting security, clarity, and affection. Aragon will bring a microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and flea treatment to his home. He also has his EU pet passport in his luggage. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good start! If you want to show Aragon how a stable dog life can be, we are very happy to receive your request. Thank you, Petra-Maria B.! Through your sponsorship, Aragon not only got a nice name but also an identity. As of: 08.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 08.02.2026

About Aragon

What life with Aragon looks like

Aragon is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aragon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aragon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aragon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aragon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aragon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aragon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aragon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
