Argo

Male · Puppy · 7 months

Hello everyone! 🐾 I’m Argo and I’d like to tell you my story. I was found in a very dangerous place, along with my siblings and my mum, Neve. We were living in a canal, hidden amongst reeds and thorny bushes. Our mum was very afraid of people and wouldn’t let anyone near her. With a lot of patience, she was finally caught in a live trap – and so we puppies could be brought to safety too. Today I am in good hands. I have already been dewormed and had my first vaccination. Now there’s just one thing missing: a loving home where I can settle in. I am well-behaved and very sweet. My mum is a medium to large-sized dog (approx. 25–30 kg), so I’ll probably grow to be medium to large myself. I’m currently in Italy and can travel throughout Europe and the UK for a good adoption or a safe foster home. 👉 Fully vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for leishmaniasis and brucellosis, with an EU pet passport – ready for a loving home! 👉 Placement only with a protection contract, a nominal fee and a pre-adoption check. 📝 Foster/adoption form: 📞 🇮🇹 Chiara (WhatsApp) – 🇬🇧 Chiara (WhatsApp only) – 🇩🇪 Sabrina (WhatsApp)

About Argo

What life with Argo looks like

Argo is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Furry Rescue Italy in Nazionale.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Argo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Argo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Furry Rescue Italy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Argo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Argo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Furry Rescue Italy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Argo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Argo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Furry Rescue Italy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Argo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
