Aria

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

Aria settled at the animal shelter in early October 2025. Sunieczka was given up by her caregiver after 8 years of shared life. She had never been to an animal shelter before. We are not here to judge the situation, but only to focus on what is best for the dog and finding her a loving home. Aria is spayed and in good health. She is small, reaching just below the knees. Aria greatly struggles with her stay at the animal shelter, finding the small space of her kennel terrifying, the barking of other dogs, and the whole shelter commotion distressing. This makes her feel very lost, scared, distant, with her tail between her legs. Aria is gentle, a bit afraid of getting her bandages on but manages somehow. On walks, her drooping tail gradually lifts up, and sometimes wags. She walks nicely and by the second walk, she opens up more. She starts to sniff more and enjoyed meeting other dogs passing by.

About Aria

What life with Aria looks like

Aria is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
