ARIA

Pointer · Female · Adult · 5 years

Aria is a magnificent female Pointer who, unfortunately, suffered abuse and malnutrition for far too many years. Recently taken in by the CPA, she has not yet reached her ideal weight, but she is making good progress. After years without attention or care, Aria will need an adjustment period, particularly to re-establish a normal relationship with food. Very sociable and close to people, she needs companionship and a great deal of love. She is a large dog, so a well-fenced garden will be necessary so she can burn off energy safely (she loves exploring and discovering new smells). Left to fend for herself for too long, Aria is looking for a stable, reassuring home where she can regain her trust in people, learn a few rules, and thrive quickly thanks to her great intelligence. ✅ Fine with cats, dogs, and children ✅ She is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed Aria is looking for a patient, loving family, ready to meet her need for affection and help her make up for lost time.

About ARIA

What life with ARIA looks like

ARIA is a large adult pointer dog waiting at Centre de Protection des Animaux de Saint-Cyprien in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting ARIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ARIA?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Centre de Protection des Animaux de Saint-Cyprien handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ARIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ARIA if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Centre de Protection des Animaux de Saint-Cyprien will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is ARIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ARIA isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Centre de Protection des Animaux de Saint-Cyprien early rather than rehoming privately; they know ARIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
