Adopt Arie Maggie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

animal rescuer: Mădălina Militaru born on: November 2023 / February 2025 Gender: female Location: Romania spayed: yes FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Disabilities: blind compatible with: Children: not known Cats: yes Dogs: not known Requirements: only suitable for apartment living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desired (if available, the safety is required) Maggie was found by Mădălina on the street - together with one of her kittens, hidden in an old barrel. The small one was very weak and survived only a short time. Maggie herself suffered from an infection and was probably already blind before giving birth to her kittens. Her severely damaged eyes were eventually completely removed by a veterinarian. Arie was also found on the street and was in a similar condition as Maggie. Mădălina took her immediately to the vet. There, Arie received medical care and was then further cared for by Mădălina. Later, Arie had to have her left eye removed. She still has some remaining vision in the right eye and probably sees more than initially assumed, although this cannot be exactly determined. Maggie and Arie are two very special cats - enchanting, cheerful, and very smart. They are social and get along well with other cats. Their blindness does not stop them; they move safely in their environment and manage their daily life impressively well. The two are very playful and prefer to spend time together, but they also seek the company of their humans and enjoy every cuddle. For Maggie and Arie, we wish a calm, loving home with very special people who give them the time to settle in and gradually find their way. Blind cats often master their daily life much better than one initially thinks - they mainly need a safe environment and people with patience, empathy, and a big heart. Whoever gives Arie and Maggie a chance will be rewarded with two incredibly loving, gentle, and loyal souls who give their trust in a very special way.

About Arie Maggie

What life with Arie Maggie looks like

Arie Maggie is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arie Maggie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arie Maggie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arie Maggie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arie Maggie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arie Maggie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arie Maggie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arie Maggie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
