Arizona, female, from shelter "Gorni Bogrov", is approximately 5-7 years old, with a height of 50 cm at the withers. She has an impressive appearance, but at the same time greets with great friendliness and curiosity. She approaches all people with willingness and without fear, and loves her walking time. She comes easily to be put on a leash and knows how to move very well with it. In open spaces, Arizona is at home. She likes to run, to jump with a spring on raised platforms. She communicates very well with people while on a leash, seeks contact, and responds excellently to the signals given to her. Arizona has problems communicating with other dogs, and their presence makes her tense, constantly watching them and pulling the leash towards them. She had an incident with another dog, which means that her future adopters will have to train her to wear a muzzle and to lead her with it when she is among other dogs. The good thing is that when she is at a distance from them, she easily separates with a signal or a pull on the leash and walks in the opposite direction without looking back at the dog. This is a very good quality for dogs that experience tension around their own kind and is an encouraging sign that her attitude towards dogs could change over time with proper work. Arizona may not become a best friend to all dogs she meets, but if the problem she experiences is properly addressed, she could create some stable friendships with a limited group of dogs. Although she likes to ride in a car, she would not be interested in trips, excursions, or vacations. She would appreciate the security and predictability of her home, with the possibility of a quiet walk in the yard or on a leash in the forest. Due to the difficulties she has with other dogs, it is important for her not to come into contact with them on a daily basis. That is, it definitely excludes a busy urban environment or walks in the park. At this stage, she experiences slight discomfort when she is indoors. Perhaps because she does not have enough experience living inside. However, this is not a big problem, since when she enters a building and feels anxious, she seeks human contact and this calms her down. This tells us that the first and main task that Arizona's adopters will have is to show her that their home is safe, that no unexpected and surprising events will occur there, and that in the calm of this environment, she can relax.
