Adopt Arizona

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Arizona is a medium-sized, long-haired, russet female dog, in whose appearance one can detect terrier genes. There's something to it - she has a temperament, courage and great curiosity about the world. She was rescued through intervention. It appears that most of her life was spent tied to a chain, without walks, without the opportunity for free exploration. Sometimes her neighbors fed her... It's hard to imagine how much she missed. And yet Arizona hasn't lost her trust in people. She is an open, brave and very social female dog. She likes affection, easily builds a relationship with a human and seeks closeness. On walks she shows her true nature - she's a volcano of energy! She sniffs, pulls on the leash, wants to see and sniff absolutely everything. It's hard to blame her - after all, for years she didn't have such an opportunity. The world is still new and fascinating for her. The future caregiver should be ready to work on walking on a leash and provide her with regular, long walks. Interestingly, in the building Arizona calms down beautifully. She can lie down peacefully on her bed and rest. She has great potential to become a real couch potato - a dog that, after a solid walk, happily curls up with their person. In relation to other dogs, she reacts differently. She can bark at them on walks, but in the building she tends to ignore them. If she were to live with another dog, preliminary introductory walks would be necessary. Arizona is an extremely charming, brave female dog who, despite a difficult past, looks to the future with her head held high and tail wagging. She deserves a home where she will be loved, important and safe. 🧡 Arizona was born around 06/2019. She is spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, chipped and sterilized. When adopting a dog from an animal shelter, keep in mind that the description you just read refers to the dog's behavior in shelter conditions. The dog's behavior may change in a new home.

Lubi czułości, chętnie nawiązuje relację z człowiekiem i szuka bliskości. W stosunku do innych psów reaguje różnie. Na spacerach potrafi je oszczekiwać, natomiast w budynku raczej je ignoruje. Jeśli miałaby zamieszkać z drugim psem, konieczne będą wcześniejsze spacery zapoznawcze. Arizona to niezwykle urocza, dzielna suczka, która mimo trudnej przeszłości patrzy w przyszłość z podniesioną głową i merdającym ogonem. Zasługuje na dom, w którym będzie kochana, ważna i bezpieczna. 🧡 Arizona urodziła się ok. 06/2019 r. Jest odpchlona, odrobaczona, zaszczepiona, zaczipowana i wysterylizowana. About Arizona

What life with Arizona looks like

Arizona is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arizona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arizona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arizona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arizona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arizona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arizona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arizona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
