Il adore la balle, les câlins et faire plaisir à son humain. Il aime être valorisé et félicité lorsqu’il fait bien les choses. C’est aussi un gros bébé, avec beaucoup d’énergie et un petit caractère ! Il a besoin de se dépenser suffisamment pour pouvoir se poser, mais surtout d’un cadre clair et cohérent pour apprendre à canaliser son énergie. Sans cela, il peut rapidement devenir difficile à gérer : excitation, bêtises, difficulté à écouter… Il peut même se montrer réactif en laisse ou s’en prendre à celle-ci lorsqu’il est trop excité, notamment si personne ne lui indique clairement ce qu’on attend de lui. Les enfants en bas âge seront donc à éviter car il va en profiter avec eux. Il a besoin d’un humain qui sache le guider et lui proposer des exercices et des ordres de manière cohérente. Il connaît déjà « assis », « couché », « pas bouger », et son rappel est très correct, même en présence de stimuli. Avec les autres chiens, Arlo est sociable mais peut être très brut dans le jeu. C’est à son humain de savoir lui dire stop et de l’aider à se calmer avant qu’il ne fasse mal sans le vouloir. Arlo voyage très bien en voiture. En intérieur il est propre. C’est un chien qui a beaucoup de qualités, mais il ne conviendra pas à des personnes novices ou trop permissives : avec lui, activité, cadre et cohérence sont indispensables pour que son énergie reste une force plutôt qu’une difficulté. Il pourra ainsi s’intégrer facilement dans sa nouvelle famille.
