How do I contact the shelter about Aro?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Aro if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Aro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Aro isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Aro

Fox Terrier · Male · Senior · 11 years

Aro and her two siblings Delma, as well as Mizo came into our care from the Vác Green Shelter. Aro is a fox terrier type, therefore she is an energetic, cheerful, noisy dog, with an incredible curiosity :) She still needs to learn to walk on a leash, as well as many other things, so a kind owner should keep a tight hold! ;) Aro has grown up, learned a lot, and socialized a lot with us. She can bring a lot of joy and happiness to her beloved owner. Despite her small size, she is not a lapdog! We are looking for a home for her where she can be a full-fledged family member. We hope that her Angel will come, the one who was waiting for her, who will give her everything she may not have received so far, a proper home and love as a dog and family member. Vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, she can be adopted. Attention, the dog can be found at the NOÉ Animal Shelter's Szerencsi branch! You can inquire about her via email! More pictures: HERE!

About Aro

What life with Aro looks like

Aro is a small senior fox terrier dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.
