Arona

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Arona came into our care after being discovered stuck inside a car engine by a member of the public. Thankfully, she was rescued and after a health check from our veterinary team, and some time in our cattery she is now ready to begin the search for her forever home. Arona is a friendly little girl who, once she knows you, loves people and enjoys gentle head rubs. She can be a little nervous initially, so would love to find a home where her new owners are around most of the day to help her settle and adjust in her environment. Arona could live with children over 10 years old, who are sensible around cats. It is unknown how she would react to other pets in the home, but she may be able to live with another friendly cat or a cat-savvy dog following careful introductions.

About Arona

What life with Arona looks like

Arona is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at USPCA.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Arona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. USPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — USPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with USPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
