Artur (2)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Artur, a handsome Rüden, has been waiting for so long - when will someone finally fall in love with this wonderful dog? Artur (due to the many Arturs at the shelter, he is Artur 2), lived as a stray for a long time, at least half a year, but the exact time is unknown. It was not easy to catch him, as he was very anxious and shy. In the meantime, he has developed quite well, he is still no daredevil and needs some time to warm up, but he already enjoys taking short walks and always encourages people to play, which is a great progress. The handsome dog would love to discover the world, take long walks, and lead an appropriate dog life with HIS family. Artur gets along well with female dogs, with male dogs it depends on the sympathy - depending on how nice the other dog reacts to him. ;-) Artur is now looking for a home with people who can teach and show him everything he has missed so far, and who are not a problem with giving the dear Rüden some more time and supporting him in his development. Artur would surely become a wonderful dog who enriches every family. We wish Artur very much that he soon gets his chance and leaves the shelter behind. Are YOU his jackpot? Then please contact us. Please read the information on our homepage about the placement process and all about dogs. We have prepared detailed information materials for all areas. Please note the "Self-disclosure" field below and send it back to us filled out. After that, the mediator will also be happy to contact you by phone. Like all our dogs, Artur travels with an EU pet passport and Traces papers. He is then castrated, fully vaccinated, freshly dewormed, treated with a spot-on against ectoparasites, tested for Giardia and possibly freshly treated, as well as with a blood test with organ values and tests for the diseases that occur in Hungary. In addition, all dogs travel with a suitable safety harness and with a GPS tracker including 1 year premium subscription.

About Artur (2)

What life with Artur (2) looks like

Artur (2) is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Canifair e.V. in Kaarst.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Artur (2), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Artur (2)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Canifair e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Artur (2) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Artur (2) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Canifair e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Artur (2) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Artur (2) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Canifair e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Artur (2) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
