Ashton is a loyal companion with a strongly developed protective instinct. Earning his trust takes time, patience, and empathy. Those who take the time, however, are rewarded with a loyal friend for life. Once Ashton has gained confidence, he shows himself to be very affectionate, seeks out closeness on his own, and enjoys cuddling together. Walks with Ashton are usually relaxed. He enjoys walking with both male and female dogs and is generally good-natured with them. Sometimes he can be a bit stubborn and decides he wants to take a different direction or, now and then, not to go on at all – small quirks that are part of his character. Because of an earlier biting incident toward his former owner, Ashton wears a muzzle for safety. However, he is used to it, and in everyday life he presents no problem. We are looking for dog-experienced people who will approach Ashton with calm and clarity, give him a sense of security, and allow him the time he needs. Then he shows himself to be an absolutely loyal companion who loves his people with his whole heart.

Hat Ashton erst einmal Vertrauen gefasst, zeigt er sich sehr verschmust, sucht von sich aus die Nähe und genießt gemeinsame Kuschelstunden.Spaziergänge mit Ashton sind meist entspannt. Er geht sowohl mit Rüden als auch mit Hündinnen gerne gemeinsam spazieren und zeigt sich dabei verträglich. Manchmal kann er etwas stur sein und entscheidet, dass er eine andere Richtung einschlagen oder auch einmal gar nicht weitergehen möchte – kleine Eigenheiten, die zu seinem Charakter dazugehören.Aufgrund eines früheren Beißvorfalls gegenüber seinem damaligen Besitzer trägt Ashton zur Sicherheit einen Maulkorb.
