Aslan

Pointer · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Aslan is a 10-month-old young crossbred Braque de Picardie. He was found wandering on the side of a road, very thin and completely frightened. Taken in by the pound, he was then transferred to our shelter to give him a second chance. My character: Aslan is a sensitive and shy dog when he doesn't know people. He will need some time to trust them, but once this bond is created, he becomes a real clingy dog. Very close to his human, he loves moments of tenderness, and head scratches are undoubtedly his daily happiness. If he enjoys cuddles, what Aslan prefers above all is walks with his friends! Very sociable, he gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves playing with them. Their presence reassures him and helps him gain confidence. He's also OK with cats, with whom he is particularly gentle and respectful. I like / I don't like: Given his sensitivity, we are looking for a calm and patient family for Aslan, ready to give him time to adapt to his new home. A family without young children will be preferred, as he may not be comfortable with their restlessness. With gentleness, patience, and lots of love, Aslan will become a faithful, affectionate, and very endearing companion. He just needs a family willing to offer him the stability and security he deserves.

About Aslan

What life with Aslan looks like

Aslan is a puppy/kitten pointer dog waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aslan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aslan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aslan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aslan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aslan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aslan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aslan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
