ATLAS

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Atlas - a street dog who longs for his forever home! - Male, 7.5 years old, born Oct 2018, SH 62 cm, 24 kg, negative test results, vaccinated, chipped, neutered. - Waiting in Spain! - Atlas needs to feel safe. He was born in October 2018. He has the right name, as he is like a map of emotions. Currently, Atlas feels fear, joy, love, sadness, loneliness and hope. He wants to be happy but first needs to feel secure. His story: Atlas lived with two other dogs on the streets in one of Seville's villages; he is the only one left at our shelter. The other male dog passed away and the pregnant female now lives happily with her puppies with a family. Little is heard from the villages where abandoned dogs constantly appear. Where do they come from? Usually, it's an evil person behind them. Atlas is a cautious dog. When you look at the photo of him being offered treats by a volunteer to gain his trust, you see the distance he allows. He waits for love and trust but it isn't easy. What would you do if you had lived invisibly on the streets for so long? He yearns to live a better life as a dog, which is why he tries hard, but he needs more time. The shelter isn't the right place for him; he needs a home and contact with people who show him that our hands can not only strike but also caress and comfort. He is healthy all around and ready to become part of a family. Atlas has been vaccinated, tested negative for Erliquia, Filaria and Leishmaniosis and is sterilized. Adoption fee 360 € includes (vet costs, transport, Trace) - Land transport to Cologne or Karlsruhe. - Atlas is in the care of the Spanish association Refugio escuela Marlene in Seville - I grant permission for data release to all - persons involved with animal welfare - Also on Facebook

- Rüde, 7,5 J., geb.10/2018, SH 62 cm, 24 kg, neg.getestet, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert. - Wartet in Spanien ! Wo kommen sie her? About ATLAS

What life with ATLAS looks like

ATLAS is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting ATLAS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ATLAS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ATLAS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ATLAS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ATLAS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ATLAS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know ATLAS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
