Atlasz

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Atlas was found on a field road near a settlement in Kaposvár, his front leg was amputated. We could only put him in the car with veterinary sedation because of his intense pain, he did not allow anyone to touch him. His injury was probably caused by a train or a trap. At the Tókerti Veterinary Clinic in Pápa, they immediately operated on him, fortunately he had no other injuries. After the operation, he was already walking around after one and a half hours, he has incredible vitality. He sometimes catches his leash playfully, he can be motivated with treats, he loves to play ball! He will become a wonderful dog with an experienced owner. Atlasz is vaccinated, chipped, and neutered, and is available for adoption. Attention, the dog is located at the Szergenyi branch of the NOÉ Animal Shelter. You can inquire about him at our address! Figyelem a kutya a NOÉ Állatotthon szergényi telephelyén található. About Atlasz

What life with Atlasz looks like

Atlasz is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Previously injured front leg that required amputation surgery

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Atlasz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Atlasz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Atlasz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Atlasz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Atlasz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Atlasz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Atlasz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
