Attikus

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Sex: male Age: born March 15, 2018 Size: large (42 kg - March 2026) Date arrived at the shelter: March 2026 Neutered: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, cat test OK, but this is in no way a guarantee. A brief meeting at the shelter has nothing to do with living together over the long term in a new environment. Patience is needed for everyone to find their place. It is up to you to teach him to live in harmony with your other animals and your children, who must show respect toward the newcomer. A healthy, peaceful cohabitation takes several weeks, even months, to establish. Character: shy Update: August 5, 2026: He is very attached to his human, cuddly, no problems getting along with other dogs, going very well with mine and those of my employers and my colleague. As for cats, I don't know. He is not yet fully house-trained, but it's already getting better. However, he needs either someone who works from home or, ideally, retirees, because he needs company. As soon as he no longer sees me, he tears through my wire fencing and takes off. On the other hand, no problems when he is shut in the house with my dogs. He needs short, calm walks because he tires quickly. Aside from the hassle of his escapes (he doesn't go far, but still...), he is adorable. If he is adopted, a GPS tracker should be planned for; I admit it's very handy for getting him back quickly. I don't think another dog is a necessity, since he gets along with mine, but he still looks for me, and when he escapes he is in the garden with them, so that doesn't encourage him to stay... The essential thing is the presence of his human. May 31, 2026: Emilie had to bring Attikus back to the center because he isn't gaining weight at the shelter. Despite the extra meals Emilie was giving him, he was perfectly well-behaved in the car. May 5, 2026: Attikus is very gentle and endearing. April 12, 2026: ATTIKUS was previously called FLORICA; he had been abandoned. His real date of birth is 15/03/2015. He saw the veterinarian for his ear infection. April 6, 2026: Attikus is becoming depressed and losing weight in his kennel. He had a blood test, nothing abnormal. Emilie put him in the entrance hall so he would no longer be stressed by life in a kennel. Shy on arrival (March 2026) History: abandoned, he arrived with an ear infection in his left ear. About Attikus

What life with Attikus looks like

Attikus is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

đŸ‡«đŸ‡·Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Attikus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Attikus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Attikus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Attikus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Attikus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Attikus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Attikus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
