Attina

Belgian Malinois · Female · Adult · 4 years

Attina was supposedly "found by chance" on the way to the shelter, a story we don't believe much in, but she can't do anything about it, of course. Another Mechelaar, but a top dog if you love the breed and know the breed! It's so important that people educate themselves about who their new family member will be. Mechelaars are the best dogs when they end up with people who can handle them. We get daily requests to take one in, from puppy to adult, but few older Mechelaars because they are given up very young. Attina is a great dog, she wants to work and participate, be with you and be attentive all day. She is not a dog to lead a quiet life of just a block and then lie on the couch, no, then Attina is not your dog, because she likes to work. A Mechelaar lover who knows what they need should give her that ultimate chance.

NL·Show original

About Attina

What life with Attina looks like

Attina is a adult belgian malinois dog waiting at ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Attina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Attina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Attina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Attina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Attina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Attina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Attina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
