adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Audrey can stay! Your story: 86637 Wertingen. The pretty Audrey is already waiting for you in beautiful Bavaria! Audrey is a very friendly, attentive, and playful mixed-breed female dog from Romania. With a shoulder height of 60 cm and a weight of 28 kg, she already belongs to the larger breeds. Her build is slender but muscular. In a team with an experienced dog person, Mori would be very well suited for activities like Canicross, etc. One could use her tendency to pull on the leash in a constructive way. She has good stamina and endurance and is therefore the ideal hiking dog. Audrey gets along well with children and other dogs and loves to have a pack around her. She also enjoys hide-and-seek, searching for socks, and sniffing. She masters sit, stay, lie down, and some impulse control. During walks, she sometimes gets distracted by her strong hunting instinct. Audrey is not a dog for beginners. She needs an experienced, gentle but firm person who she can trust and respect. Unlike many rescue dogs, Audrey is not afraid of men. She loves movement, nature walks. She likes to splash in shallow water and also likes to stick her nose into mouseholes. Occasionally, she might ignore a recall with a dog whistle. Otherwise, recall and commands like sit, down, come here, into your bed, and at your heel work well. Also, walking on the leash works well with consistent handling. For Audrey, a family with reasonable children, preferably a second dog, and space to play outside would be ideal. But motivated individuals are also suitable for her. Audrey is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. If you are interested in Audrey, then feel free to contact us! Many thanks, Annika. You named Audrey. Date: 27.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Audrey darf bleiben! Interesse an Audrey? About Audrey

What life with Audrey looks like

Audrey is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Audrey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Audrey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Audrey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Audrey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Audrey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Audrey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Audrey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
