adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ayka can stay forever in your foster family! Her story: The cute little puppy is delicate in stature and was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau before it could be euthanized. In her foster home, she is loving, but also a bit cautious, which has improved a lot. She is very cuddly, but strangers need to get to know her first. In the house, she moves quietly, almost noiselessly, but outside, she slowly warms up, though she is still skittish in some situations. She loves to run, jump, and play. Ayka is always seeking the company of her fellow animals and would like to play and run all day. Ayka is approximately 1.5 years old, with her approximate height of 44 cm and weight of about 10 kg, making her a small to medium-sized female dog. She is ideal for taking everywhere and spending a lot of time with. She gets very excited when you take the leash. Ayka loves her freedom and the outdoors. Currently, she lives with cats and would like to play with them, but the cats always run away. She misses a playmate. We wish Ayka loving and patient people who will meet her with patience and empathy, give her time to adjust to her new dog life. A well-adjusted single dog would be beneficial. First, Ayka could orient herself to him, and she would get a playmate at the same time. Ayka is an active young female dog and is looking for sporty people with dog experience. Her new home should be somewhat away from the city, and a well-secured backyard would be great. After adjustment, a visit to a positively working dog training class and dog sports would surely be fun for her. Extensive cuddle time with her family on the couch should not be missing! The sweet Ayka with her funny ears and smart look is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and can stay after a positive. If you have fallen in love with Ayka, feel free to contact us. She can also be visited in her foster home by arrangement. Many thanks, Gritt K.! You have given Ayka her beautiful name! Date: 14.09.

Vielen Dank Gritt K.! Du hast Ayka ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 14.09.2024

About Ayka

What life with Ayka looks like

Ayka is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ayka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ayka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ayka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ayka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ayka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ayka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ayka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
