Adopt Ayrone

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 10 years

Age: born on October 25, 2016 Identification: 250 268 743 613 887 Physical characteristics: short fur, gray and white, pink nose. Tested negative for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated, neutered, and identified by an electronic microchip. Due to a diet that is too monotonous (too much dry kibble!), he has gained a bit of weight, but he will likely lose it with a more balanced diet. Personality: Ayrone is a very calm, gentle, and affectionate cat, but he will need a little patience at first, as it takes him time to gain trust. Not very playful, he is however very cuddly and gently lets you know when he needs attention. This nice little cat seeks physical closeness with his owner: he loves to lie next to you or even nestle in the crook of your arm and he prefers to sleep at the end of the bed at night. A big purrer, he likes it when you stroke his head and his magnificent fur, which is very dense and soft to the touch. Ayrone can be a bit timid in response to noises, sudden movements, or changes in his environment, but he is not very shy around people: he simply likes calm and routine. Ayrone needs treatment for anxiety, which incurs veterinary costs, which is why he is no longer available for adoption.

About Ayrone

What life with Ayrone looks like

Ayrone is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ayrone, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ayrone?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ayrone on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ayrone if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ayrone already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ayrone isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ayrone and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
