Adopt Ayrton

Rottweiler · Male · Puppy

Recently arrived from the pound, I am still discovering my new environment, but one thing is certain: I am an energetic young dog who just wants to burn off energy and spend time with humans. Walks are a real joy for me, as well as moments of affection that I willingly seek. Still a puppy, I have a lot to learn. My education is still to be built with kindness, patience and consistency in order to help me become a balanced and pleasant companion. With a reassuring environment and clear boundaries, I will be able to fully flourish. I get along well with other animals of the same species, which can facilitate my integration into a home where another dog already lives. I am classified in category 2, which means my adoption is regulated by law and requires obtaining a permit. This requires an additional commitment, but I also deserve to find a family ready to invest in providing me with the life I am waiting for.

About Ayrton

What life with Ayrton looks like

Ayrton is a puppy/kitten rottweiler dog waiting at SPA de Besançon in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ayrton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ayrton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de Besançon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ayrton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ayrton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de Besançon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ayrton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ayrton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de Besançon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ayrton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
